Biography

Scott Naismith is one of Scotland’s most exciting young artists.

In May 1978 Scott was born in South Lanarkshire. From an early age he showed a great talent for painting. With the ambition to become an artist, Scott studied at Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art. In June 2000 he left with a BDes in Illustration and printmaking.

Since graduating Scott has been a full time artist. Much of his time is spent traveling around the country looking for inspiration for another take on the Scottish landscape. The many lochs, glens and isles of the West coast are amongst his favourite subject matter for his vibrant and atmospheric oils.

Recent success has led Scott to becoming one of the top selling Scottish contemporary artists, last year selling in excess of 250 paintings.

Scott’s artwork hangs in private collections across the UK, Europe, USA, Australia and Asia

Scott now has his own fine art publishing company, “Naismith & Kenny” which prints and distributes his limited editions to galleries around the UK and Ireland. A full selection of prints are available to buy from this web site.
